52100 steel has been available for years and my chosen steel for most high carbon knives. Forged, quenched, tempered but also normalized to hold a very fine grain structure, which maximizes edge holding, reduces stress points. Hardness as treated will be 60-62RHC.
I also like Axis antler, which this species of deer produces a solid almost Pith-free antler, not gnarly but polishes beautifully. This piece has been weathered and produced a finish which resembles ivory or hippo tooth. Karelian birch is a Scandinavian hardwood with distinctly attractive markings. The nickel silver pommel accents the end with a museum fit, the knife is well balanced and the edge (like all) is razor sharp.
The tang is hidden and fit into the handle by drilling / burning. This leaves a very narrow opening ant the tang insertion and I believe adds custom quality you expect. It is secure with marine grade epoxy same as used by ABS master bladesmiths.
The sheath is all hand made using lighter weight veg-tanned leather, (3-4oz) and fit exactly for this knife with an inside wooden last. Ostrich leg skin adorns the sheath face as an overlay.
Not another knife like this.
The overall length is 9 1/4” with a 4 1/8”blade.
