English Rococo Style Gilt Part Tea Service ( 26pcs) c1850 - Read Description!

An English (likely Staffordshire) mid-nineteenth century bone china part tea set in Rococo style with gilt decoration on plain white ground. The set comprises a teapot (with lid), two dessert or serving plates (of differing sizes), 11 cups and 12 saucers. No maker's marks but the saucers have the pattern number '110' hand painted to the underside in red.

The entire set was heavily discoloured from poor storage but all pieces have now been soaked in a Hydrogen Peroxide bath and most of the heavier browning has been successfully removed (some pieces look almost as new!). Some discolouration remains so some pieces would probably benefit from further H2O2 cleaning but I'm very pleased with the initial results. The first 22 pictures are a selection AFTER cleaning. The last 2 pictures show some pieces BEFORE cleaning.

1. Teapot
Bone China of part-ribbed & moulded form, large thumb-rest handle, domed lid with single-ring finial and 12-hole strainer. Decorated with gilt leaves and stylised blossoms.
~20cm tall, ~25cm spout to handle, 757g
Overall in acceptable condition. There is damage to the end of the spout and an amateur glued repair to the lid handle. There is some light crazing to the glaze in places but no chips or cracks at all. The gilt is in very good condition.

2. Dessert or Serving Plates
Matches teapot. Bone China in moulded form.
The larger plate is 25cm by 23cm and weighs 554g. The smaller plate is 23.8cm by 21.8cm and weighs 425g
The larger plate is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The smaller plate has a hairline crack to the rim (& I think some possible restoration to the same area) and some wear to the central gilt ring.

3. Tea cups (x11) and saucers (x12)
Matches teapot.
Teacup: 7cm tall, 10cm rim diameter, 108g
Saucer: 15cm diameter, 142g

The cups are mostly in very good condition. There is some additional crazing to some pieces as well as a little wear to the gilt. One cup has a vertical ~4cm rim crack and four cups have very feint, very short (<1cm) hairline cracks.

The saucers are mostly in very good condition too. There is some additional crazing to some pieces as well as a little wear to the gilt (mostly the outer rim). One has a feint star crack to the glaze on the base, one has a larger single crack to the base (visible to both sides) and one has a larger star crack from the rim to the outer inner-rim gilt band.
