A French 'Sevres Louis XV Style' Porcelain Small Floral Lidded Pill Box

A beautiful, small floral porcelain pill box, hand-decorated with a spray of blossoms in blue and pink within a pale blue band to the lid and an all-round blossom display to the body. Metal hinged lid. Very much in the 18th century Sevres style but a later reproduction.

There is a faux Sevres mark to the base with the date letter 'E' (1757-1758) but this will be a later French reproduction. Still a very nice piece.

The box is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It looks as if the metal lid fitting has been reattached at some point as there is some excess glue (this is quite common on older pieces as the original glue fails over time and it is actually a good sign of some age) and, although the lid closes shut it doesn't snap closed quite as firmly or tightly as it would once have done.

4.8cm long x 2.8cm wide x 4.8cm tall, it weighs 37g.
