Antique Josef Steidl Znaim (Austria) 18.7cm Decorative Majolica Plate c1890

A lovely late nineteenth century majolica pottery decorative textured plate, made by Josef Steidl Znaim of Austria. Made during the Victorian period and fired with lead silicate glazes, the plate has a popular 'leaves & berries' pattern coloured with pink, green and brown. Other versions of the plate have the berries in blue or yellow.

The plate is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few small nibbles to the glaze on the rim and another larger chip to the foot rim. There are also a few surface scratches commensurate with age. Please see pictures for more information.

The plate is 18.7cm diameter and weighs 250g.
