Hi! For sale is an old violin from the 18th century. I would say the date is c.1760-80. Fullsize, 359mm back.

There are two sets of pencil writing inside on the back, it's hard to look but one says "(name) violinmaker Leeds 1788". I'm not fully sure where its from, the soundholes are very similar to a Jacob Horil on Tarisio, and one expert thought the scroll could point towards French.

It's a pretty cool instrument, unpolished and you can see the maker's tool marks on the back. 99% of the varnish is original. I'm selling this because I don't have the time to work on it.

The violin is for restoration. The back is in VERY good condition, the neck is original and has been converted from baroque with extensions to the end of it (Like what was done to the "Lady Blunt" Strad). There are old stable repairs to the front, the main thing to address is one open crack on the upper treble side of the front. The scroll has no cracks, but has 3 small old worm holes. There is NO trace of this anywhere else.

I've included a range of photos for you to see the condition. If you have any questions or concerns, please do let me know!

If you win this violin, please send me your phone number so that this can be used for shipping purposes. Packaging will be done well. The prices of delivery to different countries have been hard to gauge, so I've tried to be accurate. If the final amount is different, I'll do my best to resolve this with you. Best wishes!
