Volkswagen Camper Van
1972/ K
Orange/ White
Mileage 57032

This camper has been in my family from July 1986 and just 4 owners from new (the last 2 being me and my Father before). It's looking a bit tired now so needs some love.

I think it's a 1700cc engine although the V5 details 1800cc (I'm unsure). I have MOTs going back to 1998 with the last one in March 2014 at 56764 Miles so nice history to have with one of these.

My parents used to use this fairly regularly and it was always reliable. The camper conversion was done from new and retains all original features including stove, basin, water tank, bed, original woodwork, elevating roof etc... hence will give somebody a very classic original bus when restored.

It was driven to my house in July 2022 where it has sat ever since. It has a good engine, gearbox and braking with everything working at that time. I bought it from my Father with the intention of restoring due to it's history in our family and because I wanted a bus. I can't see this happening now due to time hence have taken the hard decision to sell.

This bus will require welding. Hopefully I have given you some idea of the worst parts in the pictures however the main area initially is the off side rear floor and suspension anchoring point. This needs to be cut out with a patch welded in as this is currently floating. It was when I drove it however I didn't drive too far. I did get quotes to do the welding and for the right person, it is a fairly straightforward job to do so not silly money.

The front needs a panel at the bottom with some other smaller areas. Body panels are readily available for these so you won't need to spend ages sourcing parts.

I recently put a new battery on as I wanted to start it. Unfortunately it wouldn't fire as it has been sat for a long time however it is turning over. It does try to fire when I've put petrol directly into the carb but just needs some playing around with. I am very happy to try to get going as the engine is fine however ideally I would sell as is.

The body is possibly a bit greener now than the pictures as has been sat under a tree.

I've priced as a restoration project with a relatively low initial out lay. Once done you will have a great bus to use with adventures awaiting. They're great fun and will give you many possibilities.

Parts are readily available from a number of retailers and the VW community is excellent. I've had many air cooled VW's over the years and there are many shows to visit where you can talk to other owners, buy parts, get tips etc...

If you have any specific questions please let me know or if you would would like to view please contact me. I live just outside Oxford and we are fairly easy to get too. My number is 07768 306306 if you wanted to talk to me.
