Description

At the end of the war, our predecessor, Mr. Ikue Nobe, who was a joinery craftsman in Tokyo, was asked to repair guitars, so he started repairing guitars using his joinery skills.

Later, as the demand for guitars increased, the company began to not only repair guitars but also manufacture them. His older brother, Mr. Kuniharu Nobe, who was 13 years older than him, joined in the repair and manufacture of guitars, followed by his younger brother, Mr. Masani Nobe. , the Nobe family moved from a joinery workshop to a workshop specializing in classical guitars.

The current Nobe workshop was started in 1965 when Mr. Masani Nobe opened his own business, and since then he has honed his skills to become one of Japan's top three master craftsmen. During that time, his two sons also joined the Nobe workshop and are continuing to inherit the traditional techniques.

After Mr. Kuniharu Nobe became independent, he became the type of maker who takes time to carefully craft each piece.

Mr. Kuniharu's guitars are produced in fewer numbers than Mr. Shoji's, and they are unique and wonderful guitars that have a different charm than Mr. Shoji's. In addition, the design of the instrument and the materials used are almost the same as Shoji's instrument, and Kuniharu's guitar can be said to be the original guitar of Nobe Guitar Studio.

Materials of the guitar on display: The top is solid spruce, the sides and back are solid rosewood with beautiful stripes, the neck is hard mahogany, the fingerboard is hard ebony, the bridge is rosewood-like, and the sides are crack-proof. there is. The combination of the work of master craftsmen and the best materials of the time produces an elegant and powerful tone.

It's been 53 years since it was made, so it's hard to see in the photos, but there are some small scratches and cavities, and the previous owner had painted and repaired it himself, including repairing burrs on the frets, and was using it as is. Also, there is an Augustine black for trial play, so you can try it right away.

For guitar enthusiasts who value tone and don't care about paint repairs, we hope you will enjoy the early vintage guitars made by Kuniharu Nobe, who supported the traditional Nobe workshop.
