From my private model car collection I'm selling my three very rare 56 year old TRIX 9901 Medium Wave radios in the form of toy BMW 2000CS cars. Made in West Germany and sold in 1968. I don't have packaging but also included is a mint and very rare 1968 TRIX Toy company brochure which contains the details of the radios alongside TRIX's Meccano type construction sets and their extensive Train sets fo which they are best known.

These are very detailed models and the delicate plastic body mouldings are proportionally very accurate to the real BMW 2000CS car, one of which I have owned for 20 yrs. It's also up for sale if you contact me with £22K...It also has a radio...lol  The 1968 brochure is included in the sale and has value in it's own right.

I did consider selling the three radios separately but as I have so much other stuff to sell I decided to sell all three together. I have tested each with a new PP9 battery and they all work with the two rotary controls on the base operating on/volume and tuning. Medium wave only

I will deal with each car separately.

CAR 1 - Grey photo backdrop. This is the best radio car. Number plates and all wheel, bonnet, hood and 'C pillar and decals are intact. Note the front axle is jammed so this car won't roll. Seems it may to be glued at one front wheel point. I bought it like this and it may have been done deliberately by a previous owner to avoid the radio rolling off an inclined surface for example. The best car 'A ' has a tiny chip where the sprue was removed from the roof line.

CAR 2 - Blue photo backdrop. This car is in good order but has no number plate decals and a couple of hub cap centre decals missing.

CAR 3 - Black photo background. The car has a missing font bumper and one missing headlight. Some missing paper decals, and is not so nice as the other two. It works as a radio, but either find the parts to make good or just use as a parts car.

Note : The cars have some micro cracks which are barely visible, they can appear on the very thin A and C pillars. All cars have some degradation of the wheel hubs. Experience tells me this is most likely an age related reaction between wheel/hubcap and the separate rubber tyres which will be evident on all examples over time but the whels are not fragile and roll OK. See photos.

* Please note if you are overseas buyer, please check if VAT and/or duty is payable when you import into your country. I can’t control this but it could add considerably to your purchase price. Ebay automatically add the VAT for your country and pay it direct to your tax authority. I never see that element of your invoice which is addd by Ebay. The main Postage rate listed is for UK mainland only.

** Please wait for an invoice if you buy from outside the UK so I can correctly calculate the postage (Hopefully to save you cost) once I know where you are.

As a professional Toy Designer I have collected a personal private collection of toys, things I particularly liked, over 40 years. The collection is now slowly being listed for sale as I have a clear out and empty my loft ahead of a future house move.

Many items have never been opened and are in original packing, many have been on display in my home but are mint. Most have been dry-stored out of light and many are mint and boxed or with very superficial marking from original shelf storage from the toy stores I bought them from. I know serious collectors like the highest quality, and details matter, so I have taken many close up photos of each item I list. Please look carefully before you purchase and make sure you are happy with condition. Any serious specific damage like folds or label removal damage etc will always be noted in each listing.

Collectors know that even 'as new' unopened boxes and blister cards may have very minor wear on corners, edges and a few small surface marks or dints from their removal from original outer case packaging, and from being placed 'on shelf' in the stores from which they were originally bought. Blister carded figures for example often had slight distortion of the backing cards from new.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries or questions about any item, I can always take more photos to show you a specific area if you are unsure and I encourage buyers and take a look at items over a cuppa where possible.  My items are top notch and described to the best of my ability, but if you’re at all unsure please just don't buy. I really want to avoid protracted discussions about condition after a purchase.

I have many other toy items in my collection to sell from ' Model Kits', 'Construction sets',  'Action figures', ‘Dolls’ and many many ‘Die cast’ cars in varying condition from ‘well played with’ to ‘Mint’. Plenty of Porsche toys (800+) of all shapes and sizes, makes and models.

Thanks for looking.
