For sale is an original and rare cardstock window broadside/sign from a restaurant on Circuit Avenue, Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard. The restaurant is the "Ale & Bun" by day, and the "Rare Duck Lounge, The Island's Most Unique Cocktail Lounge" by night. An exceptionally well kept cardstock sign with BEAUTIFUL graphics. Sign produce locally in Oaks Bluffs by the W.V. Printing Company.
Sign reads: "By day The Ale & Bun, A deli with old world charm, the best in sandwiches & meals, served in a relaxin atmosphere, featuring the German Style steamed in beer dog." And "By night The Rare Duck Lounge, the islands's most unique cocktail lounge, open nightly from 8:00 to 1:00pm (which I believe is an error....should be 1am). Featuring David Crohan at the piano, Circuit Avenue, Oak Bluffs."
Appears to be from the 1970s due to research I conducted (both the existence of the restaurant and the feature of David Crohan at the piano). However, I could be wrong about the date. Condition is overall great. See photos for slight tears, edge wear, and left bottom corner water stain.
Sign measures 16.5" in width, 21.5" in length. A SIGNIFICANT PIECE FROM MARTHA'S VINEYARD'S and simply a great piece of frameable advertising ephemera. A scare piece (I could not find another one)!
