A SOLDIER GETS BACK FROM THE WAR

Home from Spain comes a batch of discharged prisoners. They have seen more of the grimmer side of life in twelve months than most in a lifetime….One of them tells his tale

Charles Kent , a 28-year-old hat-moulder, volunteered for service with the Government Forces in Spain on the 1st January 1937. He rose to Company Commander, was twice wounded and eventually taken prisoner. Now he is back in England, wondering whether he would like to be a hat-moulder again or not. Here is his story told to John Fisher
