This is a lovely gold iridescent salt made by Tiffany Studios, New York. This footed style of a Tiffany salt is one of the harder shapes to find especially with the ribbing. I have only seen a handful of these through the years. The salt stands 1 1/2" tall and is 2 1/4" in diameter. The salt has a very strong gold iridescence with strong platinum blues and fuchsia highlights. The top lip shows a nice deep blue color against a gold iridescence background. The salt is supported by a round foot. The salt resembles a classical Grecian urn shape. There is heavy vertical ribbing throughout and inside the bowl has some of the strongest blue platinum Gold Favrile color once can imagine. There are 8 of these vertical ribs. This salt is similar to some Steuben Gold Aurene salts I have seen as well. There is a crack in the salt but it cannot be felt on outside or inside of item. The iridescence even when item is facing you under normal light it’s very hard to see. The Gold Favrile, Aurene is simply outstanding!! The salt is signed on the bottom L.C.T. The LCT for "Louis Comfort Tiffany" . You commonly find the flat ruffled and salts with pigtails but these round footed salts that have this heavy ribbing are not that commonly found.
