This is a beautiful example of a two piece Tibetan saddle rug from the Qing Dynasty period.

It was purchased in Katmandu in the 1970’s after many years of use in Tibet.

Both items show use conducive to being used as saddle pads- see photos.

This item would make a beautiful piece of Tibetan art by being transformed into a wall hanging or alternatively used as a rug.
