i am so thrilled to offer this amazing Edwardian RoseGold Cased amethyst bangle ..a perfect gift for the special someone on Mothers Day ! Or any day or trest yourself!
I have picked this as one of my specials, so dont miss out on this fabulous price ! You will not be disappointed ..the photos do not do it justice !
The design on the front is spectacular..it has a large bezel set amethyst in the centre centre surrounded by beautiful ornate scrollwork .
Very eyecatching and that old pink rose gold hue of old .in the second to last photo ive left the catch undone slightly so you can see how the closure mechanism works
This has the makers mark JMF & Co for the JM Fisher Company from Attleboro MA they commenced 1893 and ceased 1940s and were makers of fine jewellery , gold shell and gold filled .Rose gold of old was a soft pink color as they used bronze to mix with solid gold to obtain the hue.today rose gold is made by mixing solid gold with copper which gives todays rose gold a deeper hue.
So this bangle is gold shell also called gold cased in UK the exterior is a thick, lush layer of solid gold..unlike rolled gold or gold filled antique bangles.
This edwardian bangle is that pink rose gold of old and has a very wide front .. its in amazing antique condition for its vast age and there is no wear at all to the gold so i doubt this was treasured and kept in a jewel box rather than worn These are so hard to find in this condition , and would make a wonderful gift
