Vtg 40s Rayon Fabric Aztec Missions Pottery Palms Guitarist on RED

Vtg 40s Rayon Fabric Aztec Missions Pottery Palms Guitarist on RED

Vintage fabric. Medium weight rayon in a smooth, silky "cold" weave. Measures 38 inches from selvage to selvage and is 34-35 inches in length. Excellent unused condition; there are no stains, holes or rips. Some of the photographs were taken near a window or other strong light source, which may cause uneven shadows and tonal variations in the image. The actual fabric offered is even in tone, color and intensity. Wish there was more of this, but original owner probably just wanted to make a scarf. This piece is enough for that purpose or for a halter front. Several indigo blues, soft maize and milk white on a rich red. So many great scenes - a dog watching sheep (never seen a shepherd on vintage rayon before), serape wearing guitarist and friend overlooking the dog and village, fruit filled basket, ox cart, pottery, orchid, women vendors in shawls, mission, indigenous imagery (Aztec calendar under lemon tree). Beautifully rendered in classic forties style; has the look of an expertly done hand print.

This would be a great print to put back into production. This palette is wonderful but imagine it in blue, soft orange, Nile green and cream on black! Gives us shivers!
