Vintage fabric. Medium weight rayon or other silky synthetic in a "cold" finish. Measures 44 inches from selvage to selvage and is 4 yards in length plus a little tail. Excellent unused condition; there are no stains, holes or rips. Selvage reads: "SILKY BY HOFFMAN CALIF FABRICS". Some of the photographs were taken near a window or other strong light source, which may cause uneven shadows and tonal variations in the image. The actual fabric offered is even in tone, color and intensity. Milled in the 60s and 70s and heavily (and faithfully) inspired by Hawaiian designs of the 1930s and 1940s, these Hoffman prints are tough to find in significant lengths. This is a fabulous find; it's a great design and the palette is a knock out! Gorgeous print with small sailboats plying the waves at sunset. The waters are calm; gentle waves lap at the shoreline. Palm trees, laden with coconuts stand tall in the foreground. The sun is setting and glints of warmth are captured in the sky. The clouds are fabulous; they are rendered in a classic art-deco, faux air-brush style. Several shades of purple, Nile and forest green(s), tomato/orange, grays from whisper to charcoal, black and bright apricot. (Please note the sails, coconuts and flowers are tomato and show more orange than red.) There is so much to admire; it's truly a stellar textile.
