The well-known Austrian artist and designer Bruno Zach was born in Vienna and worked in Austria as well as in Germany. He immigrated to the USA in 1935.
Bruno Zach was one of the best known designers of Art Deco figurines in period of 1918 - 1935, having emphasized design of dancers and nude figurines of stunning liveliness. Beyond that, Zach specialized in design of cowboys and native Americans during his later creating period / circa 1930 - 35.
Bruno Zach's artistic activity in Austria is strongly connected with Vienna Bronze manufactory; numerous stunning figurines were made by order of Vienna Bronze firm having been designed by Bruno Zach!
The tradition of Viennese bronze manufacturing started in the middle of 19th century when many bronze artisans were active in capital of Old Viennese Empire / subsequently the manufacturers have become quite successful so that company of 'WIENER BRONZEN' (= an association of around 120 companies) was founded / the most famous manufactory was the one owned by Bergmann family.
