A very interesting portfolio containing numerous detailed drawings relating to the Petit Trianon chateau constructed in the gardens of Versailles in the second half of the 18th C.

The portfolio was compiled by architects James Arnott and John Wilson (Edinburgh) and published in 1908. Containing a preface, contents pages, general introduction and 97 no. plates of measured drawings and photographs. A comprehensive work.

It is an unbound set. All plates are present. The majority are in good condition but a small number do have some discolouration and tears to the edges, mainly those at the beginning and end of the portfolio. It would be a fine book indeed if bound. According to the note applied to the inner leaf, this would have cost 10/6 back in 1908, return carriage only!

It's a very large and heavy body of work. 500mm x 380mm and weighing nearly 5kg.

Due to the weight it will be posted out using Parcelforce 48 and very carefully packaged.
