Die Darstellung zeigt den engen Freund Friedrich II, Hans Karl von WINTERFELDT, Generalleutnant der preußischen Armee. Er kämpfte in der Schlacht bei Prag am 6. Mai 1757. Beim Zurückschlagen der Österreicher in der Schlacht bei Moys erlitt er so schwere Verletzungen, dass er am nächsten Tag in Görlitz verstarb.

  • Description: Illustration from the multi-volume work on the history of Frederick the Great, written by Franz KUGLER (1808 Stettin-1858 Berlin). The illustration shows the close friend of Frederick II, Hans Karl von WINTERFELDT, Lieutenant General of the Prussian army. He fought in the Battle of Prague on 6 May 1757. In beating back the Austrians at the Battle of Moys, he suffered such severe injuries that he died the next day in Görlitz.
