Offered for your consideration is a CANTON part number 2746 1 inch (25mm) dome tweeter that was original equipment in my CANTON Plus D speakers, manufactured in Germany c.1997. This high frequency driver may have been used in other period CANTON speakers, but the buyer is responsible for verifying its suitability for any model other than the Plus D.

This CANTON tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. It has a flawless, dimple-free radiating surface and sturdy black plastic faceplate with no scratches or cracks. Plus, there’s no oxidation on the sizeable magnet structure. And, I’ve left several inches of the +/- input wires soldered to the terminals for the new owner’s convenience when splicing-in to their speaker. Overall, this CANTON tweeter looks practically new.
Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific—clear and strong output that goes way deep into the beyond audibility ‘sparkle’ zone with its 26kHz rating! Plus, it supports 80W input power in the Plus D, so it’s a sturdy platform. And, I tested its DC resistance at 4.5-4.7Ω, consistent with a nominal 6 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 4 5/16” wide x 2⅞” high, it stands 1⅛ tall (not incl. the dome), and the mounting holes are spaced 3¾” long way / 2⅜” short way apart, c-t-c.
This is a great find if you have a blown or damaged high frequency driver in your Plus D or other suitable CANTON model from the era. And, long discontinued, it’s a smart spare to have on hand just in case!
