Measures 8 inches long including crank knob and stands 4 inches tall to top, 5 1/2 inches tall with crank at full height. Pencil clamp spring is tight as is advance spring. Blade retainer releases easily to clean rotating blades; oil ball and spring move easily to oil gears. Handle screw removes easily with flat blade screwdriver. Top flips open easily for cleaning. Fully functioning; sharpens pencils as intended. Minor paint loss from normal usage with slight crank discoloration from hand and finger grease over the years. Textured plaque is 100% legible with a nice, darker patina and may actually be brass, I am not sure; minor discoloration on drawer front might be polished off if desired. Plaque reads "DANDY AUTOMATIC FEED PENCIL SHARPENER U.S. PATENTS JAN. 9, 1900-MAY 1, 1906 JAN1, 1907-OTHER PATENTS PENDING MANUFACTURED BY AUTOMATIC PENCIL SHARPENER CO. CHICAGO, U.S.A." Latch cup is in good shape showing minor handling discoloration; knob is tight. No cracks or breaks. Gently cleaned and wiped with food grade mineral oil, this is a good early example of a Dandy sharpener fully functional and retaining its original patina from over a hundred years of existence. Ready to use or display.

A nice pencil sharpener to add to your writing instrument collection and one that has the other patent pending's that all Dandy's do not have.
