This is a partial Volume V of Mathew Carey's American Museum, or Universal Magazine, containing full January and February issues, and ending on page 230 , partially into the March issue. Notably, however, is the presence of the folding plate of Benjamin Franklin's "Chart of the Gulf Stream" along with his printed "Remarks upon the navigation from Newfoundland to New York...." Other points of interest through include Customs, Manners, and Language of Northern Indians, Account of a Negro Doctor, Historical Memoirs relating to Inoculation for Small Pox, and much more. Pages generally very good - the only exceptions to the condition are a tear that has removed about half of the volume's title page, and tears on two pages (does not affect the Franklin map or prose).
