Lovely Rare Mid 19th C Henry Marc Japy Freres Bell Striking Repeater Carriage Clock
Would make a lovely gift.

Henry Mark was a well known early 19th Century clock maker and retailer (mainly retailer) of fine clocks. Japy Freres is one of the most famous and long established French clock makers and are of high quality. This rare clock has stamps of both. It was probably therefore made by Japy Freres in a collaboration with Henri Mark who retailed it.

I would put an early age of circa 1850-1860 to this clock. It looks like it has its original gold gilding which still has some buttery colour to it with some gilding loss markings and some tarnishing of course commensurate with its age.

The clock is ticking and striking correctly as seen in the short video.
Comes with a key.

A very collectable and early famous maker clock, anything anywhere similar on ebay is £800 to £2000+. This clock has been valued at around £1499 so anything around £1000 i beleive is a bargain.

Approx  14cm not including handle

Please do remember given the sensitive nature of the movements that after transit they may need adjusting and/or setting up. I recommend for these clocks to be picked up in person.

Any viewing is welcome and recommended.
Bank transfer or cash if being picked up in person.

Please look at my other rare antique carriage clocks and exotic wood items.

Thank You
