This fantastic banjoembodies the music, art work, craftsmanship and love of the African Americancommunity in the 1800’s. I've owned thisfor about 50 years and it has always brought me joy thinking of the pleasure ofthe music brought to people in this time period and the pride the originalowner would have had to own this one of a kind hand built masterpiece. The inlaywood is a fine birds eye maple, I believe the neck and back are made fromcherry wood and the body is either a maple ,oak or birch. Truly one of a kindhand built Masterpiece. In the last fifty years I have never seen any thatcompares to this magnificient piece.
