  • Bezeichnung: Unterhalb des Zierrahmens betitelt mit dem Namen der Dargestellten. "Sie ist wohlgestalt, von hohem Wuchs und einem bezaubernden Blond" - so beschreibt der Schriftsteller Fürst de Ligne die Gräfin du Barry (1743 Lothringen-1793 Paris), "ma?tresse en titre" des französischen Königs Ludwig XV. und eine Nachfolgerin der verstorbenen Madame de Pompadour. "Sie hat ..schöne Augen, ..ein ovales Gesicht mit kleinen Grübchen in den Wangen, die sie aufreizend machen wie keine andere.". Ihr Leben inspirierte zahlreiche Künstler, die sie in ihren Romanen, Gemälden und Filmen verewigten. Porträttafel aus dem Buch "Gräfin Dubarry. - Aufstieg, Macht und Ende nach ihren Briefen an Marquis von V..", Druck und Verlag von Weichert, Berlin.

  • Zustand: Guter Zustand. Das altersbedingt gebräunte und stellenweise leicht bestoßene Blatt zeigt teils grobe Knickspuren. In der rechten unteren Ecke sind entlang der Kanten Kulireste zu sehen. Das Porträt macht einen sehr guten Eindruck.

  • Inscription: Titled with the sitter's name below the decorative frame. "She is shapely, of tall stature and a charming blond" - this is how the writer Prince de Ligne describes the Countess du Barry (1743 Lorraine-1793 Paris), "ma?tresse en titre" of the French King Louis XV and a successor of the late Madame de Pompadour. "She has ..beautiful eyes, ..an oval face with little dimples in her cheeks which make her more provocative than any other". Her life inspired numerous artists who immortalised her in their novels, paintings and films. Portrait panel from the book "Countess Dubarry. - Rise, Power and End according to her letters to Marquis von V..", printed and published by Weichert, Berlin.

  • Condition: Good condition. The sheet, browned due to its age and slightly bumped in places, shows rough crease marks in places. In the lower right corner there are remains of a pen along the edges. The portrait makes a very good impression.
