  • Beschreibung: Das Studienblatt aus dem Skizzenbuch des dänischen Künstlers Rondahl zeigt eine ganzfigurige Darstellung eines orientalischen Kriegers mit Pelzmütze und Mantel. In seiner Schärpe steckt ein Säbel. Rückseitig sind skizzenhaft weitere Figuren dargestellt. Die Zeichnung stammt aus einer Sammlung von Historien- und Sagendarstellungen mit nordischen Szenen und Themen aus der Hand des dänischen Künstlers Rondahl, der sich besonders als Zeichner einen Namen gemacht hat. Er lieferte die Entwürfe für zahlreiche historische, archäologische und literarische Schriften.

  • Description: This study sheet from the sketchbook of the Danish artist Rondahl shows a full-figure depiction of an oriental warrior wearing a fur cap and cloak. A sabre is stuck in his sash. Other figures are sketched on the reverse. The drawing comes from a collection of history and saga depictions with Nordic scenes and themes by the hand of the Danish artist Rondahl, who made a name for himself especially as a draughtsman. He provided the designs for numerous historical, archaeological and literary writings.
