A tall perennial herb with a thick, short rhizome and numerous thick roots. The plant has a wide range of therapeutic effects: sedative, expectorant, soothing, anti-sclerotic, hypotensive, wound healing, etc. Cultivated as a valuable medicinal and honey plant, as well as for decorative purposes.

Blue cyanosis, due to the bioactive substances contained in a large amount, in particular saponins, has a pronounced multi – sided effect on the body-it normalizes metabolism. In medicine, preparations from the rhizomes and roots of blue cyanosis are widely used as an expectorant for the treatment of inflammation of the lungs and respiratory tract (acute and chronic forms), tuberculosis, as well as a sedative and calming agent of the Central nervous system for various nervous and mental diseases. In addition, the plant is used in scientific medicine as a hypotensive, hemostatic and wound-healing agent in the treatment of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (for epithelization and granulation of damaged tissues), while the greatest effect is achieved in combination with dried poplar grass. The use of blue cyanosis in certain doses for atherosclerosis reduces the amount of cholesterol in the blood and has a positive effect on blood clotting.
Contraindications and side effects

Drugs from cyanosis are not recommended to take on an empty stomach. Use cyanosis only in the prescribed doses. Excessive doses may cause vomiting, diarrhea, and headache.
