Vintage 1920s, Samuel Barder (Expert Furrier 167 Kensington Hight St.) genuine fur stole.

Fur features a soft, deep black finish with a brown lining and makers label to centre.

It has a slot at one end in the centre (see pics) for one end to pass through to secure it around the neck.

Samuel Barder was part of a family of famous Furriers (see last pic), which is an exert from an interesting article about the Barder family business.

Based at 167 Kensington High Street, Kensington, London (the shop is now a Holland and Barrett).

The fur itself is beautifully soft and in fine condition. I have stated as coney fur, but may be another type (I am not a Furrier  myself).

The original label label is present and clear and has the name R Wallis above it.  It also has a vintage tag attached (I can't quite make out the details on this), but it's a nice touch if you want to display it.

The lining is split in various places, commensurate with its age, probably over 100 years, and I would advise replacing it if you plan to wear, but it would be fine if you wanted to use it as a display piece/wear occasionally, to replace would obviously take away some of its originality/history, but it is the buyers prerogative.

I've never worn it myself, it was part of a collection I purchased several years ago. It deserves to be worn/admired!

Please feel free to peruse my other vintage scarves,  cravats, and ties.
