Review

"An action-packed adventure story and so much more. Get swept away as Harry and friends race against time and a hurricane to save Tilly, Sally, Isabella, and-possibly-Pondville itself! Meet four windblown characters who suddenly drop in. Cringe when Sawyer has a hospital mishap and hold your breath as Harry 'flies' into unfriendly territory. Learn how these delightful and diverse characters work and grow together and, finally, celebrate. This is a book worth reading!"-Beth Blozie, artist "Another winner from Dr. Robert Ernst! Young readers will enjoy the thrills and adventure in this exciting story featuring Harry and the residents of Pondville. Problems arise when friends in Florida are carried away by spinning winds during a terrifying hurricane and land, injured and confused, in Pondville, far to the north. On top of this, there's the problem of how to keep Pondville's courthouse and several residents from being swallowed up by a large, newly developed sinkhole. Pondville residents and the Florida four unite to solve the problems."Parents and teachers will find this book an excellent resource emphasizing empathy, positive interactions with others, problem-solving, work ethics, and citizenship. Discussion questions after the story are a bonus. Harry and the Hurricane is an excellent literary addition for the classroom and home library."-Dena Provini, educator, elementary and middle grades
