This card comes exactly as you see it in the photos.

Alexandre "Alex" Sarr from the start of the 2023-24 Basketball season, has been touted as a projected 2024 NBA Draft Lottery Pick, maintaining a #1 first overall pick speculation status most of the year.  We'll find out on  2024 NBA DRAFT Dates: Wed, Jun 26, 2024 – Thu, Jun 27, 2024   which team selects him and if he goes and gets drafted in the 1st round at a Lottery pick or the prestigious first overall selection or not...


Amen and Ausar Thompson (2023)

The Thompson brothers have been considered two of the best prospects in the class since last year. They both played for Overtime Elite and would be the highest players drafted from that program.

The Thompson Twins debuted with OTE in 2021 about 2 years ago and Topps released their debut "Rookie" (First) Trading Cards, officially licensed basketball cards.  Flash forward to the 2023 NBA Draft and both Amen and Ausar are touted to be "Lottery Picks" taken by an NBA team within the 1st 10 selections in the first round... Amen is projected to go to the Houston Rockets with the 4th overall pick and Ausar is projected to go to either the Orlando Magic with the 6th overall pick or the 7th pick to the Indiana Pacers.

Only time will tell which players and respective cards emerge as the most sought after, desired and valuable for each player... and as for the Thompson Twins, they're so evenly scouted and evaluated with their own unique strengths that one may rise above the other, or one day they may reunite on the same team.  As Lottery picks they're among the best NBA prospects in the 2023 Draft touted with high potential.

Topps Overtime Elite Basketball Trading Cards were released in two (2) series

Series 1 was called "Topps Overtime Elite Debut" which Topps began releasing cards before the 2021-22 OTE Season started, so were posed photos and in total there were 27 cards in that set that were sold exclusively on Topps Online from September 2021 through November 2021 in daily drops sequentially that had each card available for purchase for a one week timeframe before being retired.

Series 2 featured "In-Action" cards through the OTE 2021-22 season with game highlights, that started with Card #1 in November 2021 and continued through 2022 with releases nearly every week of the season as an ongoing set for the season spanning the 2 years of 2021 through 2022.  

So, card collectors value both cards with similar desire.  While Series 1 are the true "debut" first rookie cards, they also have the highest print runs that ranged from below 700 to over 8,000 of certain individual player cards printed.

The Series 2, In-Action Game Highlight cards has seen much lower print runs, some below 300 of certain individual player cards with the Jalen Lewis #1 card the only one having a print run slightly over 1,000, but most other players in the 250-500 print run... so that's where scarcity comes into play in total population printed that exists, making many of these cards extremely desirable, highly sought after, yet elusive and hard to find.  These are many of the same players from the Series 1 set, released in the same season/year of 2021-22, so are still considered "Rookie" cards.

Only time will tell which players and respective cards emerge as the most sought after, desired and valuable for each player...

What is OTE?

Overtime Elite, the new professional basketball league for 16-to-19-year old stars.

Many consider OTE as a better option for Basketball Athletes who are 5 Star Recruit prospects to focus on playing the sport at an elevated level above and beyond what's played in High School as well as an alternative to the NCAA College / University experience, all while being professionally organized where players get paid.  Many feel the OTE might provide players a better bridge to the NBA than going straight from High School to College then into the NBA Draft hoping a pro team will select them.

This is not the minor leagues where players are demoted into a developmental league.  It's more of an academy where young talent is nutured, including academic enrichment aside from just playing Basketball, preparing these athletes for the real world, so under the OTE, many scouts speculate, athletes come out more mature and possibly better equipped and ready for the NBA.

Only time will tell on whether or not the OTE becomes a source for the NBA to draft talent out of, as anticipated by many to be. 

As for the OTE Trading Cards, these are officially licensed cards of players in the Overtime Elite, so are their 1st rookie debut cards when they're 16+ years young, and everyone in the card collecting loves to get the cardboard debuts of All-Star players who may one day get inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame.  Speculating investors love the idea of acquiring trading cards with low print runs of these players on the ground floor before they become sports legends.  The odds are, many will fail, but also some will succeed, so it's the best part of speculating on prospects at this early stage in their careers and at such a young age, knowing these may take time for the players to develop and you may not hear about them in the mainstream news for a few years from now, but when you do, these cards will become highly sought after and might be the key grail collectibles to own.

THE OVERTIME ELITE STORY

Five years ago, Overtime set out to build a different kind of sports community and brand to serve the next generation of fans. We’ve also heard about cracks in today’s system, and the stress it’s putting on their bodies, their families and their finances.

2019 was an enlightening year for Overtime, where our eyes were opened to the flaws in the system. 

In May, we held a weekend-long event, the Overtime Takeover, where we hosted many of the country’s top basketball players (and their families). Over the course of the weekend, we had a series of conversations with them where it became clear that the system was broken.

At the same time, we noticed that more and more top players were bucking the traditional path. They were changing schools, playing internationally, skipping college and training at home. The traditional path either doesn’t work or isn’t appealing for these players, so they’re charting a new course.

That summer we began in-depth discussions with top prospects and their parents. We wanted to better understand what was happening and why.

We came away with three big conclusions about what’s missing for players in today’s basketball ecosystem.

Player Development: Lack of access to the best training, coaching and facilities

Education: Academics are not prioritized and applicable professional skills training is ignored

Economic Empowerment: Players are restricted from realizing their market value

The more we learned, the more we asked: how can we help fix this?

THE OVERTIME ELITE ACADEMY

At OTE, we believe in the power of a personalized, self-directed approach to education. Our athletes are empowered with the agency and opportunity to create their path to mastery of grade level content at their own pace, with the support of our content specific, professional Learning Facilitators. OTE Academic programming consists of 5 key components.

PERSONALIZED LEARNING

We have partnered with Xceed Prep to provide a comprehensive online learning platform for all athletes that provides them with the resources and content needed to help them master grade level content for their classes. Athletes are programmed into coursework based on their Personalized Learning Plans that track to high school graduation at the end of their senior year.

Our “X- factor” is our dynamic team of educators that we call Learning Facilitators. Our on-site Learning Facilitators have a history of success in the field of education, strong content knowledge, and have been trained to ensure that on site learning sessions are engaging, interactive, and filled with debate about complex issues and content that will ensure a strong transfer of knowledge. 

Learning Facilitator Sessions:

Daily on site sessions with content specific Learning Facilitators that are designed to help students understand and master the content presented in their grade level courses.

4:1 or 1:1 academic support and content specific tutoring

Responsive to athlete self-directed pacing and learning goals for each week. In person instruction support is tailored weekly to help them reach their learning goals.

While traveling, athletes will work on their classwork online and have the opportunity to use online platforms to schedule remote learning sessions with their learning facilitators. After hours tutoring and homework support is available daily through our partners at Revolution Prep

ACADEMIC MENTORS

Each athlete will be assigned a “mentor” of their choice to check in with them weekly to plan their academic progress and set goals for the week.

ADVISORY SESSIONS/OPENING & CLOSING HUDDLES

We will begin and end our day with an opening/closing huddle to focus on our commitment to creating a strong brotherhood bond among our athletes and focus on developing connections between them on and off the court.

LIFE SKILLS CURRICULUM

The purpose of our Life Skills Curriculum is to prepare the next generation of elite athletes for a career in professional basketball. Our goal is to ensure that our athletes leave OTE with the tools and skills needed to lead meaningful and sustained careers in professional basketball as well as the ability to create a pathway forward after their time as professional athletes. 

OTE athletes will receive training in the following content areas to help them achieve that goal:

Social Media/Media Training

Advocacy in Sports

Mental Health and Wellness

The Business of Basketball.

Life skills classes will be integrated into the weekly academic time and will be facilitated by learning facilitators, OTE academics staff, and industry leading professionals and athletes.

DUAL ENROLLMENT OPPORTUNITIES (COLLEGE CREDIT)

Athletes who are interested in earning college credit during their time at OTE will have the opportunity to enroll in up to 12 units each year through our partnership with Xceed Prep which offers dual enrollment through the University of Pittsburgh and Outlier.org.  Dual enrollment courses begin every two weeks, which allows athletes to sign up for a course at any time throughout the year. The flexible format ensures that students can manage their high school and college assignments seamlessly.

PLAYERS

OTE teams features top high school rising juniors, seniors and post-graduate athletes globally. They will compete both within the league and in external competitions against domestic and international teams. The league features 27 players, all living, learning, and training in Atlanta.

EDUCATION

OTE offers a direct-instruction model led by individual instructors who teach both 1:1 and in small group sessions featuring a 4:1 student-teacher ratio. OTE supplements a traditional course offering with a focus on life skills including financial literacy, media training, and advocacy and sports, and business of basketball.

LEADERSHIP

OTE is led by former league execs:

Commissioner and President Aaron Ryan, worked for the NBA for 22 years in a variety of roles, and more recently served as Relevant Sports’ Chief Operating Officer.

Head of basketball operations Brandon Williams, a former NBA player (turned NBA exec) who has also worked in the front office for the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings.

Head Coach and Director of Player Development, Kevin Ollie, has 30 years of experience as a player and coach in the NCAA and NBA. Ollie coached the UConn Huskies to an NCAA championship.
