This is a used Leica Summicron 1:2/50mm "rigid" lens for Leica M series 35mm cameras, manufactured in Germany in 1957. It's a bayonet-mount rangefinder-coupled lens with manual focusing and iris operation. I'm supplying it with caps and a cloth storage bag. The front cap is original, I'm not sure about the rear.

This works and is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, but there is fungus and fungus spores throughout the interior of the lens, which is reducing contrast and definition, This can be cleaned, but not by me.

I took test pictures with a Sony A3500 E-mount mirrorless camera with Leica M adapter, with the lens set to f8 for all pictures. Weather was cloudy but dry. The camera was set to program and ISO 800, which seems to work well in poor lighting. This is an APS-C format camera so images have narrower angular coverage than they would on 35mm film.

As always I'm starting low and with no reserve. I'm separately selling some other photographic items. If you buy multiple items from me please request a combined postage invoice, I'll do my best to get it down to the lowest possible price. I do not make any profit on postage. Prices rose at the end of March.

International buyers: The postage price shown is based on an estimate of packed weight, just under 500g. Because of the expected final price of this item postage includes extra insurance to cover the full value. If combined postage is used for multiple items (maximum packed weight 2kg) the tracking fee is charged only once. Please note that eBay will add VAT or sales tax to the final price in the EU and some other countries. If postage is cheaper than expected I will refund the balance.
