Written by English author Henry Rider Haggard, who was a pioneer in the world of adventure fiction and romance, being a key author in the lost world genre.

Originally published in 1887.

'Allan Quatermain' was written as a sequel to 'King Solomon's Mines', telling the story of English hunter Allan Quatermain, who appears in a number of Haggard's novels, with the entire series spanning fifty years of Quatermain's life.

This particular novel follows Quatermain's discovery of enormous wealth and his return to Africa in attempt to come to terms with the death of his son, Harry.


CONDITION

Bound in the publisher's original red cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light bumping and slight marking to the extremities. Lacking front free endpaper. Dust wrapper is very good, with light chipping to the extremities and a closed tear to the rear joint tail. Wraps are lightly soiled, with sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound with clean, bright pages.
