Silversteel is a high carbon steel with chromium and vanadium added. Carbon content is 1.10-1.25 carbon and hardens to 62RHC easily. It’s been forged to shape and forging marks were NOT removed but still progressively worked and sanded by hand to a satin finish at 1500 grit, this finish is partly reflective. Forging marks are a matter of preference and some folks want forge marks as evidence it was hand shaped.
This blade is thin and strong for game processing, chore work, with a flat grind, excellent for slicing. This blade is flat ground, while the typical blade is diamond shaped. Only a single mini-bevel, easier to slice, carve, debone, and sharpen if needed. The knife feels great in hand always conscious of where the blade tip is.
Bog Oak has been finished smooth with progressive sanding and polishing. The handle length is extended at a 5” length adding a unique feel/balance for all use. The Axis deer antler spacer is an exceptionally strong even where a small vein channel will have some porous it’s, not like other deer.
The sheath is all hand made using heavy weight veg-tanned leather, and fit exactly for this knife design.
The overall length is 10.25” and the blade is 4.75”. I am presenting this as an everyday user, hunting or chore knife.
