This integrated circuit is the 8 bit CMOS microprocessor (p/n 8-752-816-04) that controls the tape transport mechanism for Sony DTC-75es, DTC-55es, DTC-700 DAT recorders.

This chip is brand new and has been and will be diligently handled with standard anti-static precautions, including but not limited to: ESD safe international: storage, handling, packing and shipping; domestic ESD safe handling in packing for shipping (antistatic mat, antistatic wrist strap, anti-static grounding wire, anti-static tweezers, anti-static suction-based IC gripper), and placed in ESD safe packing and shipping container.

In all the multiple internet searches, using multiple search engines and search phrasings, only a few of these chips were found. This is the last chip available.

This integrated circuit is returnable ONLY if the ESD safe bag and box has not been opened. Once opened, this integrated circuit is not returnable.

In handling this chip at your end, you must use standard anti-static IC handling and soldering tools.

This chip is located on the underside of the main board of the above DAT recorders.

You must have or be willing to learn micro soldering techniques to remove the old chip and install this new one.

PS: if the deck you own or are servicing simply has a slow rewind or a slow fast forward, that problem can generally be resolved by a thorough cleaning and lubrication of the reel table. Feel free to ask for more details if this is your problem.
