The burl walnut case with bright red felt lining has the initials "LM" fancily etched into the stylized brass plate set into the top lid of this medical knife case on offer that provides for a total of TWELVE (12) matching length surgical knifes - as shown.
Accompanying this case is one surgical long nose saw by LENTZ & SON that has a black ebony wood handle that has an over-all length of 11" - with the detachable saw blade itself being 5 3/4" long.
Essentially, with the saw being an exception - other long surgical knives of the basically 10 1/2" length and a few inches shorter will fit snugly into this attractive 19th century case with the knife tips clearing the end 'dividers.'
The outside dimensions of this case is 12 1/2" x 1 3/4" 5 1/4" in size.
The brass hinges are sturdy and in excellent shape. The front latch hardware are present, but the key is lacking and the case was found locked in the past and thus the case was forced open and pulled the two lock assembly latch screws out from the case, but is still present.
