While the six-pointed star here is clearly representing drink, and is therefore also an example of the Brauerstern ('brewer's star'), it is unimaginable to me that there is not also a Jewish connotation here, given the large Jewish population of Görlitz at the time and the striking element of Jewish pride on these rare little small-change notes issued by the Cafe Hansa. Certainly a topic for further numismatic research, and if anyone has any information on the proprietors of the cafe or their artistic intent, I would greatly appreciate it.
