Longine Oposition gents stainless steel dress watch. Immaculate! Box & full set.

This is an amazingly complete and tidy example of one of Longine's most distinctive and stylish watches of the early 2000's. First purchased in 2002 and being offered here complete with outer box, display case, instructions, warranty card and all bracelet links, this must surely be one of (if not ,THE) best examples of this watch currently for sale in the UK.

The watch features a beautifully crafted, integrated case/bracelet design that is both attractive to look at and comfortable to wear. Coming, as it does, with all of the links that it left the factory with, it should fit any normal wrist size. Currently, it is sized for a 7.25" wrist.

The Longines-branded movement is a Swiss ETA quartz one with a date complication. It has just had a brand new (Renata 371) battery fitted (see final photo) and the watch runs and adjusts perfectly smoothly. There are no technical faults with this watch.

In terms of condition, the dial, hands and crystal are just about perfect - no visible defects at all. The case and bracelet and butterfly clasp are free from all major scuffs and scratches. The only scratch that I can see is one on the case-back (where somebody has slipped with a tool when trying to remove it, I assume). You can just about see it in the photo of the case-back, but it is only a shallow scratch.

I bought this watch to add to my small collection because I really liked the design and wanted a good quartz movement (instead of a cheap automatic one). For me, there are just two issues with the design. Firstly, it's a little bit on the dainty side for my 6' 4" stature and secondly (thanks to my failing close-up vision) ... I can't read the dial very easily :-( . Because the hands are all-metal and don't contain any lume, you have to rely on them catching the light to stand out against the dial and this can be difficult indoors. For anyone with 'normal' eyesight, this won't be an issue, but I struggle with it (hence the sale).

Not much else to say, really. Whether you want this watch for your collection, or even as a gift for someone special, I think that you will be very happy with the condition of it :-) .
