5 Light Pink Dinner Plates Moderntone Platonite, Hazel Atlas 1940 - early 1950's

9" Diameter.

Good condition. No cracks or chips.

Some minor factory flaws, as is ususal for Platonite. See Pictures.

The paint on the surface looks slightly worn, but possibly it came from the factory that way. It doesn't look like scratches from wear.

The color varies in the pictures, but they are all the same light pink color.

In the 1940's, Hazel Atlas started making opaque white pieces from their Art Deco Moderntone molds. Most of this white glass was then painted ("fired-on") in a wide variety of colors.

In my experience, factory imperfections of Moderntone Platonite are frequent, and it can be difficult to match shades because they vary.

Also, some pieces are painted on the inside as well as the outside. Others are painted only on the outside, and were left white on the inside.

Moderntone Platonite was designed to be playful and multicolored, not perfect.

Collect several colors, use them all together, and enjoy!

I am selling off my large collection of platonite (to make room for more stuff).
