Description

This is a very rare example of an antique Junker & Ruh hand cranked sewing machine offered at a very low price.

This superior machine 'The Climax' is in verey good working order and comes complete with case and accessories.

The gilt decoration is rubbed but the remains of 'KAY & Co' can be seen on the bridge and 'Made in Baden' is applied to the trunk of the machine.  Junker & Ruh produced machines for the British mail order company Kay's of Worcester from their Baden factory (an example of an identical machine with the same decals can be found on the website 'Fiddlebase.com' under Junker & Ruh.

The sewing machine comes complete with solid mahogany case and accessories and their patented 'Needlework holder' which is fixed to the base.    The case is in good order with the original locking key.  It bears a serial number of 787273.

Please see the photos to appreciate the condition of the machine.  Though I have not done a test sew, all parts appear to move smoothly, quietly and correctly.
