From the back of the dust jacket. - "Operations in Persia is one of the 'mystery' volumes in the British official history of the First World War. Compiled by Brigadier-General FJ Moberly at the request of the Government of India, it was printed in an edition of five hundred copies by HMSO in 1929 but its existence was kept secret because of political objections on the part of the India Office. Only a small number of these copies are known to be extant...Based on official documents, it presents a detailed account of the British Military involvement in Persia between 1914 and 1919."
