You are bidding on an incredibly rare, possibly one of its kind Test Pressing of the 1976 Greatest Hits Compilation "Dirt, Silver & Gold" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. In the vinyl community, It is very uncommon these days to come across a title that doesn't exist already on Discogs and/or have a previous sale history. In the case of this test pressing, there seems to be neither.
The records themselves, 3 LP's, are in Near Mint condition and appear to possibly never have been played. There is a small hairline scratch on Side 5, shown in one of the photos below, which does not affect playback.
All 3 disks were cleaned on an Ultrasonic Cleaner and stored in premium archival sleeves. I play tested a few tracks and all of side 5 and was impressed by how great these records sounded!
Also included is a 3 typewritten pages from the label with relevant track listing and pressing information. The records themselves are stored in a generic white sleeve. The sleeve itself is in excellent condition, but is really not relevant to the condition of these test pressings as it contains no unique markings or printing to identify this title. You could replace it with a brand new white outer sleeve if you wished.
As I said, there is nothing to be found out on the Internet regarding this test pressing; its quantity, who received them, etc. Suffice to say, for the right fan, this is a very unique find!
