Why You’ll Love It
The artistry of glass in this Juliana D&E brooch and earrings set is not to be missed. Just look at how its pentagon-shaped rhinestones –in a lovely lavender color – emanate light, with various AB rhinestones that blend seamlessly in this striking piece. With drops that dangle freely on the brooch as well as the earrings, the romantic shimmer and patterning of the glass make this substantially sized set rich in more ways than one.

Condition and Quality

Bright patina, with light wear to the finish. No irregularities or solder repairs.

Crisp faceting, minor surface wear, and no chips to the glass. All of the stones are original, intact and in place.

Secure, original clasp on brooch and clip earrings.
Collector Note
On Juliana D&E. Mid-century design firm Juliana Delizza and Elster pieces are known for the heavy use of glittering rhinestones, often set in a cluster design with very little of the settings or metal showing. The stones range in striking colors, from vibrant reds to leafy greens but especially featuring autumnal color palettes. As such, Juliana D &E pieces capture the zeitgeist of the 1960s and 1970s, with over the top looks and orange-golden colors. Pieces are not signed because the firm used paper hang tags, but the style of construction is so distinct that Juliana D& E pieces are highly recognizable by collectors.

On Color. Color plays a key role in jewelry design and, in turn, its collectibility. Whether natural stones or glass, what exact hue of blue was used or the combination of colors can tell you what time period a piece was made. Certain shades can be more common during a particular decade, making that piece of jewelry a classic example of the period - or - conversely, a vibrant and unique shade might make it uncommon.
