1968 Morris Mini Cooper Mark II 998cc

I bought the car as what was described as a Mk2 998 Cooper rolling shell with VIN Plate and age related registration number, I have now stripped bare and have started to brace and cut out the corrosion, I have amassed many of the correct parts to restore it back to its original build specification but with some period beneficial modifications.

There is No V5 but I have a registration number that matches the year and area the car was supplied from and the original Chassis VIN plate (K-A2S6/117????-A) with Heritage Certificate to match, showing car was registered in June 1968 by Stewart & Arden Ltd, Acton. Since covid and a recent medical incident, I no longer have the physical capability to continue with this and would like to sell it as a job lot including some tools and equipment. I have itemised and listed below most of the important items I have specific to the model, there are a lot more genuine rebuild items too. I can supply more specific information and photos if required.

Mk II shell on Rotisserie, (probably not original but MK2) Dry subframes with original running gear,  front discs, hubs and shafts, front MOWOG dry replacement subframe in very good condition and serviceable spare rear. Hi-Lo suspension sets & adjustable front tie rods. Radius arms are serviceable but will require complete rear brakes. Steering column and rack. Wiper linkage. Pair of inner rear wheel arches.

12A497 998 Thick flange (9FD-S-H) block with complete pre A+ engine (99H720E) to provide internals. 12G295 Cylinder head, Twin Ring 998 Cooper Camshaft and duplex timing set. Genuine Big Foot rockers, PCV Valve and Spin on Oil Filter mounting. Reconditioned twin 1 ¼ Su Carbs on manifold with heat shield. Large 7.5 Gallon fuel tank and cap.

Gearbox 22G1128 4 syncro close ratio Cooper S with 22G1040 Laygear. All clutch and flywheel housings to suit 4 syncro fitment and engine breathing system too. Standard transfer gears, Flywheel and Clutch. Cooper gearbox radiator mount with correct 2 piece Radiator cowl.

Clock binnacle with correct original 100 MPH rounded bezel speedo and matching temperature & oil pressure gauges, Ignition switch and panel with rare chrome spacer, wiper and light switches. Mk2 indicator switch, Heater assembly and Wiper motor. I have a nearly brand new fabric taped wiring loom, (dynamo) I have been told its LHD but I cant see what difference it would make?

I have all the glass and a lot of rubbers and trims, Correct headlining frames and two front seats (for frames) door handles, boot catch and locks, Winguard interior mirror, boot badge and chrome bezel. Nice genuine rear lights, number plate hanger and light. Set of 4 10inch Minilite type wheels with 165/70-10 tyres & loads of boxes of other useful spares I can list later.

Doors, Bonnet & Boot Lid badly corroded but anything seems salvageable today.

The sale also includes The Rotisserie, BMC Clutch housing seal tool, Flywheel puller, Suspension cone compressor and a Tecna Spot Welder. The car is located near Matlock Derbyshire for viewing and collection purposes, I fully understand what a daunting project this looks, but everything is available out there to get it done. I am looking for around £4,250 for the lot, which is basically what the parts add up to without the shell..

Many Thanks for looking.
