CONDITION:  Good Vintage related condition most would say.  Upfront we disclose a very odd defect on the inside bottom of the piece.  Looks and feels like a small piece of the clear glaze flaked off likely during production and was re-glazed over and put back in the kiln.  We tested the resiliance by immersing in water. There was no sign of water seeping into the glaze so we believe this is just a cosmetic issue. Other than that no additinal chips, cracks, or crazing.  Stains and oven marks on the bisque (unglazed) bottom and although we clean thoroughly, a few speck like spots remain on the unglazed rim shown in close up.  From smoke and pet free home.Very Rare piece of fine French porcelain from Apilco.  This oval Dutch Oven Baker features a design called Game Birds with different depictions of fowl and "one" rabbit. Please read comments above and know there are several tiny production imperfections that are both typical and characteristic of Apilco such as tiny cooling bubbles that burst in the kiln. Approximate dimensions: 9 3/4" x 7 1/4", top mouth, x 3 7/8" deep without domed lid.  With the lid about 6" high. Weighs almost 4 Lbs. 3 ozs.  Sold "as is" with no returns accepted.  Thank You.
