This is a genuine silver coin minted in France before the 3rd crusade, by Raoul VII, Lordship of Déols between 1160 and 1176.

I didn't know why Raoul (written Radulfus on coins) used this six-pointed star, but it may have a link with the holy wars : 2nd crusade ended in 1149 and the 3rd started in 1189.


As it is not much a rare coin in France, you can get an amazing relic of this historic era at an attractive price.
