This elegant figurine depicts a man and woman playing a board game, possibly draughts.

Dressed in mid 18th century dress, the ladies outfit has a navy top with ruffled neckline and cuffs. There is a pink bow on the back and green layered scalloped skirt.

The gentleman wear a terracotta coat with white edges and mustard coloured breeches.

A small dog sits at his feet.

On the back., on the base is the word Germany and what appears to be the number 26729.

On the base is the Grafenthal blue fine mark showing the elaborate crown and fine lined G with arrows. Beneath it is the year 1859. There is also a blue number 19.

Having looked into the mark this could have been made anytime from 1889 until 1972 .

It is in very good condition and photos show this. The only fault is the ladies wrist , see photos.  It has a fine line with what appears to be a small dab of paint, the same colour as the mans jacket. I do wonder if this fault happened what it was manufactured as it doesn't appear to be a glued repair.

Measurements

15cms tall and 15.5cms along the base
