The fourth in a series of boxes - hand enamelled by Crummles & Co. for Royal Crown Derby - with matching Plates and Paperweights

The delightful hand painted *Thistle* Donkey is depicted lying down with a decorative and colourful blanket, bells and tassels - amongst thistles, vegetables and foliage - enhanced with 22 carat gold decoration and fine detailing. The base of the enamel box is iron red. There is an image of *Thistle* Donkey on the inside lid of the box together with '2001 Govier's of Sidmouth'. The box is fully marked to the base with the Royal Crown Derby backstamp as well as the handwritten '25' (of 750).
