The pics up are from the shop where I bought it and also Kauer’s own original PR pics - I have played it maybe six times since. I think I’m the second owner, the shop was selling it secondhand but whoever had it before them took care of it.

Selling an unbelievably rare Arcturus from the fabulous Kauer Guitars. This particular one is number 4 of 6 in a limited run of guitars made from

one piece sold redwood burl bodies. The colour is called “Sunset” and it really pops out the crazy striations in the burl.

It’s got a nice fat flame maple neck and an AAA wenge fretboard. The neck shape is not for the shredders out there - it’s a big boi.

The whole guitar weighs just under 8lbs - I think it’s around 7lbs 15oz or so which is surprising considering what a hefty chonk finished burl can be, but this is of course good!

The pickups are Canadian-made McNelly Cornucopias - yet another excellent take on the PAF but with just “more” of everything.

The bridge is a top-loading T-style with 3 brass saddles - for all the toanz.

There is some play wear/swirls but not a tonne and no significant bashes or dings. There is what looks like a visible chunk out of the very bottom on the fretboard on the high strings, you will need to zoom in to see it, however this is actually just a trick of the figuring on the wood and it feels completely smooth to the touch.

These guitars were pushing £5k when they were new and Doug Kauer said at the time he doubted he’d ever find wood like this again - not to mention the fact that the model is discontinued anyway, so this is a rare opportunity to grab something super unique.

Selling because I need to downsize and I really get along better with offsets that have tremolos. Finding it hard to get used to a hardtail… anyway, more importantly, this simply has not been played that much.

Includes a sturdy Mono gigbag. Thanks for looking, have a couple other guitars available on my other listings if you like!
