For sale here is a superb pair of Lake CX238X wide fit shoes in size 46.5, which is Lakes 293.5 to 296mm length size shoe.

Condition is excellent having only been worn 6 times. Some minor marks/wear as pictured but these are basically as good as new. These are £295 new so a huge saving to be had here for someone.

These are for 3-bolt road cleats and speedplay with the adaptor plate. I HIGHLY recommend using the Speedplay extender plates to run your cleats further back if using speedplay/wahoo. I have a set of these plates in good used condition if needed.

Note that these are the premium version with the 2-way BOA dials that can tighten and loosen with each click - some CX238 were fitted with the inferior ones that can’t micro adjust both ways.

These are Lakes very widest shoes. Confusingly, they are even wider than the CX-332 in “Extra Wide” because these use Lakes widest last, the Competition Wide last.

They also boast a beautiful full grain leather upper which moulds to your foot shape with wear/use, so are especially comfortable for riders with very wide or oddly shaped feet. Synthetic uppers just don’t have this ability and will often pinch at certain points of wide feet.

These are Lake size 46.5 Wide. I’d recommend comparing by the mm size which is designated as 293.5 to 296mm on these.

These fit me similarly to my Nike trainers which are UK 10.5 (295mm) x 4E extra wide width and my ASICS trainers which are UK 11 (but also 295mm) x 4E extra wide. So for my feet, these compare very well with other 295mm x 4E extra wide shoes.

I have very wide feet and these are the widest and best cycling shoes I’ve ever had and I’ve had many including wide versions of Specialized, Bont and Sidi Mega. Sidi Mega are supposed to be 3E width but they were too narrow for me! These Lakes are significantly wider so are probably 3E to 4E width.

These were recommended for me at a professional shoe fitting as the widest high quality cycling shoe available and the only solution for my extra wide feet. The fitter was exactly right. I was also fitted with G8 adjustable arch support footbeds at the same time which was another game changer and I’d recommend those to anyone as well. As such I don’t think I even used the original insoles, which are supplied in mint condition as shown.

These are only for sale due to a football injury meaning my foot has actually essentially enlarged slightly and I now need a larger size. So I have bought these again but in size 47 as there’s simply no better shoe out there for wide feet. My loss is your gain, these have not seen much use at all and will be good for many tens/hundreds of thousands of miles under their new owner.

Some very minor wear and cosmetic marks as shown. Functionally as good as new. Amazing shoes!

UNEQUALLED PEDALLING COMFORT

Unique to Lake is their patent double carbon sole system. The inner sole is a semi-flexible carbon fibre platform that allows the foot to have some flexibility at the ball of the foot where the foot tends to swell and hot spots would occur. The inner sole is suspended over the outer carbon sole which is extremely rigid. This creates a far more comfortable foot interface than a single rigid carbon tub sole, especially noticeable on longer rides, with no loss of power or efficiency.
