The sextant is in it's case with it's certificate which dates it to 2/10/45. The serial number to the cerificate and also to the scale of the sextant is '45803'. 

The scale is marked from -5 to 125.  The scale is also stamped 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN', 'MATE', 'SERIAL No45803' and 'H. HUGHES & SON Ltd LONDON.'. The scale marker moves freely. 

The approximate dimensions of the case are : 10 3/8 " / 26.5 cm wide x 10 5/8 " / 27 cm deep x 5 1/2 " / 14 cm high. 

CONDITION: The sextant is in good vintage condition, the scale marker moves freely as do the lenses, just minor general knocks /  marks commensurate with age and use. The carrying case has knocks / marks commensurate with age and use.
