During World War 2 my husband’s father worked at Cruver
Manufacturing Co., Chicago, as comptroller, later becoming sales manager, plant
superintendent and general manager. His mother gave my husband the models that had
been wrapped in newspapers and stored in cartons in the basement. Since the
models were expected to become obsolete rather quickly, they were deliberately
made with lower quality plastic than other molded products from the period,
such as table radio cases. Some of the models showed signs of chemical
breakdown in the black plastic they were made from. Please read the Condition Description as this plane definitely has chemical breakdown and fuselage distortion. No vinegar odor. Wing span is 7." Length is 5-1/4."
